Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment to Accessibility

At Mintyy, accessibility is not a "bolt-on" feature; it is a foundational pillar of our engineering process. We believe that a truly world-class digital experience must be inclusive of all users, regardless of their physical or cognitive abilities.

We recognise that the web is a vital resource for people with disabilities. We are committed to making reasonable efforts to ensure our website—and the products we build for our clients—are engineered to be usable by as many people as possible.

Accessibility Standards

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Our engineering follows the four core principles of accessibility (POUR):

  • Perceivable: Information and UI components are presented in ways users can perceive (e.g., alt text, high contrast).
  • Operable: Users can navigate and interact with the site easily (e.g., keyboard-only navigation).
  • Understandable: Content is clear, predictable, and reduces cognitive load.
  • Robust: Our code works reliably with a wide range of assistive technologies and modern browsers.

Technologies Used

Our website is built using a modern, headless architecture designed for peak performance and deep semantic integrity. Our "Mintyy-Fresh" stack includes:

  • Next.js (React Framework): For server-side rendering and optimized page structures.
  • Sanity.io (Headless CMS): To ensure structured content remains portable and accessible.
  • Tailwind CSS: For consistent, high-contrast visual styling.
  • Framer Motion: Used for purposeful, non-distracting motion that respects system preferences.
  • Lucide Icons: Scalable vector graphics with appropriate aria-labels.
  • WAI-ARIA Attributes: Implemented surgically to provide context to screen readers.
  • Vercel / AWS: High-availability hosting to ensure consistent access.

Animation and Motion

We utilise motion to enhance the user experience, not distract from it. We strictly adhere to the following:

  • Prefers-Reduced-Motion: Our site automatically detects and respects your system settings. If you have "Reduce Motion" enabled, all non-essential animations are disabled.
  • Safe Patterns: We avoid flashing, jarring transitions, or scroll-jacking that could cause discomfort or seizures.

Specific Accessibility Features

To ensure an "Inclusivity-First" experience, we have implemented:

  • Skip Links: Allowing keyboard users to bypass navigation and jump straight to the content.
  • Focus Visibility: High-contrast focus rings for all interactive elements to aid keyboard navigation.
  • Semantic HTML: We use <main>, <nav>, <header>, and <section> landmarks to provide a clear map for screen readers.
  • Dynamic Font Scaling: Our layouts are engineered to remain functional even when browser text is zoomed to 200%.

Continuous Testing & Quality Assurance

Accessibility is an ongoing journey. We regularly audit our site using:

  • Manual Testing: We navigate our site using only a keyboard and test with various screen reading software (NVDA/VoiceOver).
  • Automated Audits: Utilising tools like axe-core and Lighthouse as part of our CI/CD pipelines.
  • Colour Contrast Validation: Ensuring all text-to-background ratios meet or exceed WCAG 2.2 standards.

Known Limitations

While we strive for 100% compliance, some legacy content or third-party integrations (like embedded maps or social feeds) may occasionally fall short of our internal standards. We actively monitor these areas and work toward resolutions as technologies evolve.

Feedback and Contact

We welcome your feedback. If you encounter any barriers on our site or require information in an alternative format, please get in touch with us. We treat accessibility reports as high-priority bugs.
